How these categories are matched

These use what carriers declared on the FMCSA Census (live official query, US carriers). General freight, refrigerated food, liquids/gases, motor vehicles, dry bulk, livestock and grain use the official cargo checkboxes (plus matching free-text where noted); flatbed has no checkbox, so it matches the carrier's own free-text description only. There is no dump-truck field, so none is offered. This is declared cargo, not equipment seen at inspections (see each profile's Equipment tab).

The Safety tab shows FMCSA roadside inspections and out-of-service counts for the last 24 months, crashes on file (facts only, no fault), the official safety rating if FMCSA published one, and the trial record reference score with each input, source and date. Inspections are a sample of a fleet's trips, not a full record.
